Tucked away in the ground floor of an office building on King William Street is a gem of a Vietnamese restaurant.
It does feel more than a little strange having people walking right behind you, on the way to or from the lifts of their office, while you are having lunch. This becomes doubly unusual when you are sitting having amazing pho, caramelised Australian King prawns or coconut marinated pork ribs, while quaffing a delicious SA craft beer (in my case a Barossa Valley Brewing hoppy ale).
Cause, this strange feeling passes pretty quickly as right at that moment you are actually pretty pleased with how life is going!
3rd By NNQ (the sign has 1/3) is a sister restaurant to NNQ Woodville and Little NNQ Vietnamese on Gouger Street. It is named this because it takes up roughly one third of the foyer*.
Regardless of its dimensions though, this packs a punch with its strong menu of Vietnamese dishes. Everything we had across the board was fantastic, and they also cater for breakfast, coffees, and simpler lunch options like banh mi or cold rolls for something on the go.
3rd By NNQ is located at 1 King William Street Adelaide. They are open 7:30am till 7pm Monday to Thursday; 7:30 till 2am on Friday; and 5pm till 2am on Saturday. Closed Sundays.
* this may or may not be true, but it’s a theory I like so I am sticking with it. The fact it’d the 3rd in the family I believe is entirely a coincidence.
