Lady Burra, Adelaide’s only CBD based brewery, has lifted the veil off their renovations just in time for ‘Mad March’. The changes are clearly visible from the foot traffic passing through Topham Mall, with Lady Burra now sporting a new outdoor area with seating for 30 people amongst other visual enhancements.
Topham Mall has long been a bit overlooked in the scheme of the city’s main byways, but this development in conjunction with the Adelaide City Council is looking to energise this much frequented strip.
As well as the aesthetic changes, the Portuguese influenced menu has been massaged a little. The focus on fresh, local, seasonal ingredients remains, while there is an increased incorporation of their brews in the various dishes. They even use some of their spent brewing grains in the house made focaccia! While long been known for their pizzas, Rosa’s paella is another signature dish that is available to order on Friday and Saturday nights. Pizzas, burgers, sangas, various tapas items and share plates are all there – all looking extremely tempting!
They have already been winning awards for their beers, but now Lady Burra and the Kidd Retail Group is looking to expand into the surrounding areas with some new and exciting developments. First up we will see “The Noble Gentleman” which is a city wine bar acting as a city based cellar door for producers who do not have their own elsewhere. They are also launching an intriguingly described ‘unique coffee show concept’ called “Frequency”, while they are also reaching for the skies later in 2018 with a rooftop bar called “Two Suns”.
For now though, we get to enjoy the fresh faced Lady Burra. With a range of delicious tap beers, a chilled atmosphere for either a simple drink or a bite to eat, catering for all tastes and diets, Lady Burra could well be your new ‘go to’ meeting place in the CBD.
I doubt the fire twirlers will be there every week though….
Lady Burra is located at 4 Topham Mall Adelaide, and open for business from Monday to Saturday.
